5 tips for print-ready files

A few simple checks before you send us your design save time and make sure your print looks exactly as you expect.

  1. Save as PDF. A PDF keeps fonts, images and layout exactly as you designed them.
  2. Add 3 mm bleed. If colour or images run to the edge, extend them 3 mm beyond the trim line.
  3. Keep text away from the edge. Leave at least 3–5 mm of safe margin inside the trim line for important text.
  4. Use high-resolution images. Photos should be 300 dpi at their printed size; images taken from websites usually are not.
  5. Check your colours. Screens show colours differently than paper. For brand colours, tell us the exact references and we will match them as closely as possible.

Not sure about your file? Send it anyway — we check every file before printing and will let you know if anything needs fixing.
